What is Manual Valve?
A manual valve, also known as a hand-operated or manual operated valve, is one that is opened, closed, or has its degree of opening adjusted by hand (manual operation).
A manual valve’s construction determines whether it is a globe valve, ball valve, gate valve, butterfly valve, or diaphragm valve. By opening or shutting a flow passage, valves can “shut-off,” “flow,” or “stop” fluids and control flow rate.
Principle of Manual Valve
In a manual valve, the valve plug (ball, disk, etc.) is housed inside the valve housing (body). The valve plug can be turned up and down to close the flow stream by adhering to the seat in the valve housing. The valve plug can be rotated, raised, and lowered manually with a manual valve. However, The valve architecture affects the pressure drop across the valve when the fluid goes through the valve.
